깜신's Today..
요즘 전성태 씨가 쓴 ‘망태 성태 부리붕태’라는 산문집을 읽고 있습니다.
어찌나 글이 입에 감기는지 쫓기는 원고는 밀쳐두고 손을 놓지 못하네요.
한 권 가득 빼곡한 문장 속에 허투루 끼어든 글자가 단 한 자도 없습니다.
작가가 얼마나 정성 들여 펜을 꾹꾹 눌러썼는지 고개가 절로 숙여지는 대목입니다.
출판사에서 걸려오는 전화는 항상 “작가님~”하며, 저를 부르는데 부끄러운 생각이 드는군요. 저는 과연 글 쓸 주제나 되면서 끄적이고 있는지 모르겠습니다.
얼마 전 유재석, 김원희의 ‘놀러와’에 이적 씨가 출연한 적이 있었는데, 그때 이적 씨가 그러더군요.
“음악 작업이라는 게 자아도취와 자괴의 반복이에요.”
음악뿐만 아니라, 모든 창작이 그렇지 않을까 하는 생각을 했습니다. 저도 글을 쓰면서 그렇거든요. 자뻑에 취해서 멋모르고 쉽게 지껄이는 날이 있는가 하면, 어떤 날은 남 부끄러운 생각에 썼다가 지우기만 반복하는 거지요.
오늘은 어째 한 글자도 더 못 쓸 것 같은 하루입니다.
큰일이군요. 내일이 마감인데 말이죠.
